ABOUT the therapy
My name is Ivana Ristić, and I am the first Licensed RTT® Therapist in Serbia. I completed my training in Rapid Transformation Therapy ®,
RTT ®, at a UK school, where I graduated as an RTT ® Practitioner, Certified Hypnotherapist, and RTT ® Associate.
Later I expanded my knowledge by taking additional studies in Amsterdam where I had the honor of being directly trained by Marisa Peer, founder of RTT® therapeutic method, voted for the UK's best therapist award multiple times, and an internationally multi-award-winning hypnotherapist. Working alongside Marisa has deepened my RTT® skills and my practice has exploded after this. I graduated in Amsterdam and received Advanced Certification in Rapid Transformation Therapy® and the title of Advanced RTT® Therapist.
Post graduation, after completing 480 hours of Professional Development, I have received a certification in Clinical Hypnotherapist.

RTT method is known as a client-focused approach that quickly narrows down and gets to the bottom of the issue, the root cause of how you became the way you are. Because the truth is, whatever you are feeling right now, you were not born like this, you acquired it, it's a coping mechanism to protect you from hurt and pain. I use hypnotherapy to quickly get to the root cause of your problem, we drill down to those core stories that you unconsciously tell yourself every day, over and over for decades. I then help you remove and replace them with healthy, and more functional beliefs which represent your true self, so you can think, act and react differently.
How have you become the way you are today?
No matter what happens in life, how you handle the situations that trigger you, speaks a lot about yourself, your limiting beliefs, behaviors, and the personality traits that you acquired in your childhood. There's so much more that explains the anger, sadness, jealousy, sudden fears, self-sabotage, feeling inadequate, less than others, invisible, and feeling you can never really fit in. Feeling that you don't deserve and are not worthy. These false beliefs dictate how you think, and how you act and react in the world. These beliefs created the symptoms such as depression, anxiety, fear and phobias, ruminating thoughts, racing minds, perfectionism, workaholism, etc.
When our needs are not met, our mind must find ways to make those needs met so we compensate, we make compromises that hurt us. We may always try to please others in an attempt to feel loved and accepted, we may tune out because we grew up in the hectic environment and tuning out was the only time when we felt safe, or we learned to avoid saying NO because we fear we'll be rejected, we may become workaholics and perfectionists to prove we are adequate and worthy, we develop a fear of failure, we stress our bodies to the point it no longer is able to function properly and we develop eczema, psoriasis, or autoimmune diseases.
If we haven't been validated and praised enough as children we develop coping mechanisms to make us accepted, loved, safe, seen, praised, and validated. In doing so, we bury the anger, sadness, and fear. We disassociate from emotions, and from ourselves. We become like chameleons adapting to anything even if it means hurting ourselves. We try to soothe the pain with addictions to substances, phones, food, and work, we are constantly in fight or flight mode. We are angry, sad, or depressed more often than not and we don't know how to regulate ourselves properly. We lash out at others who didn't hurt us. It gives you temporary relief but the hurt and the pain never really seem to go away. We feel isolated, less worthy, different, and inadequate. We behave in ways we can't understand and often seek answers from everything and everyone else which leads us right back to the beginning. So we get more frustrated, angry, or sad and we think, well that's just how it is. But is this true or is there something behind all these emotions and symptoms?
When something happens, we don't respond to what happened, we react to our perception, to our interpretation of what happens.
Of all the possible outcomes, you choose the worst one and in doing so, it's not like you go through all other outcomes and then select one, you don’t do that, your brain jumped, assumed, and chose the worst possible interpretation, it happens automatically, without thinking. The question is why? Why is that familiar and your subconscious mind has automatically chosen the worse possible interpretation? What’s that feeling like? When was the first time in your life that you felt hurt, alone, angry, and not worthy of care, love, and respect, and has it happened before? How often? Who's the one that doesn't think you deserve love or respect? Who's the one that made you feel you are different, you don't belong, you don't matter?
Most of my clients go way back into their childhood and that's where trauma is:
Gabor Mate defined trauma so well, that he said: "Trauma is not what happens to you, it's what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you. It's a construction in your mental capacity to respond in the present moment from your true authentic self, essentially trauma is a restriction of your authentic self in the present moment."

Sometimes we see ourselves as victims of the world, so we try to change the world and people around us because we believe that's the only way to avoid the pain and being hurt. Truth is, no matter how you feel right now it doesn't need to be like this for the rest of your life, whatever happened in the past, doesn't need to control you anymore. You are free to make other choices, better choices for yourself as an adult, in order to do this you need to look within yourself, to see what lies behind your hurt, how you got it, who made you believe those things about you, and to understand you have the power to change it, and that's what the healing is all about. That's what RTT Method is about because the change is possible and available to everyone.
It's not a question of just talking about what happened in the past, it's a question of removing and changing what happened inside you at that moment. To get that ability to respond in the present moment without fear, anger, guilt, shame, etc. That's the essence of my work with clients. We drill down to those core stories that you unconsciously tell yourself every day, over and over for decades.

Until a few years ago, it was impossible for me to post a photo like this one. I am a recovered perfectionist and so I always thought a therapist's website must show a professional business-like photo. All my life I was hiding my insecurities behind my achievements, titles, and professional accomplishments. Needing to be something that I'm not so I can feel worthy and loveable. But not anymore. I reclaimed my authenticity and discovered there was so much acceptance, and love around me.
Finding your voice, speaking your truth, and being seen, heard, and believed are important aspects of your recovery.
So often I meet clients who are indoctrinated to believe that they have no right to express their feelings, no right to be loved, to put their needs first, no right to question figures of authority, no right to be heard, and no chance of being believed even when they do tell the truth.
This can sound like "children should be seen and not heard" or "how dare you to question me" or "if you're going to cry, I'll give you something to cry about" or "this is our little secret and even if you did tell anyone, noone would believe you".
